Visa and entry requirements change — sometimes with very little advance notice, and differently by passport nationality. It's one of the few categories of travel information where a guide that was accurate last year can be quietly wrong this year, and we take that seriously enough to handle it differently from the rest of the site.
Our approach
We do not publish a country-by-country visa table on this site, and we're deliberately cautious about specific fees or processing times, because both change and a stale figure looks just as authoritative as a current one. Instead:
- Our main e-Visa guide explains how the system works and where to check it, without pretending to be the source of truth itself.
- This news post exists to flag that something has changed when it does, and point you to the official source, rather than trying to be the official source.
- The only page we treat as authoritative is the Turkish government's own portal: evisa.gov.tr.
What to actually do before booking
- Go to evisa.gov.tr directly and use its eligibility checker with your passport's issuing country.
- Check your own government's travel advisory page for Turkey — most link the same official portal and flag any recent rule changes clearly.
- If you're booking well in advance, recheck close to your departure date — rules have shifted inside a booking window before, for various nationalities at various times.
Why this matters more than it might seem
Getting turned away at check-in over an entry requirement is one of the few travel-planning mistakes that can derail a trip entirely, rather than just being an inconvenience. It's worth the five minutes to check the primary source directly rather than trusting a single blog post — including, honestly, this one.
